The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Dance seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor of Dance (rank to be determined based on qualifications) beginning August 23, 2024. The successful candidate will teach Contemporary and Modern dance technique, Dance Composition, Repertory, First Works course, and Senior Projects; teach courses in African or African Diasporic Dance, specifically Umfundalai Contemporary African Dance Technique, and Repertory. Position requires Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Dance or Ph.D. in Dance and two years of experience teaching dance, with college-level teaching experience preferred.

The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Dance seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor of Dance (rank to be determined based on qualifications) beginning August 23, 2024. As a movement specialist in Contemporary Release Technique, Contact Improvisation, Composition, Improvisation, and Choreography, teach undergraduate degree required courses in all these areas. Teach students how to engage creatively through a process of unpacking movement and compositional principles, physically and verbally, that guides students in ways to engage with the moving body as an instrument from which they can produce and represent a broad range of voices and individualized approaches to dance. Position requires Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Dance or Ph.D. in Dance.
Visiting Lecturer of Costume Technology and Design UMBC Campus Open Until Filled
University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Theatre invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer of Costume Technology and Design for the academic year 2024-2025. The candidate, working alongside our full-time Costume Shop Manager, will contribute technical and organizational support to collaboratively produce costumes for our four-play production season. The candidate may teach and/or mentor students in costume production and design, and may also design costumes for up to two productions.
Multiple Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in the Department of Information Systems UMBC Campus Open Until Filled
Multiple Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in the Department of Information Systems, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) The Department of Information Systems (IS) at UMBC invites applications for four tenure-track faculty positions starting August 2024. One of these positions are at assistant professor level and the other three are open rank. One open rank position is preferably in the area of human centered computing and the other open rank position is preferably in the area of data or business analytics, and the other two positions are in any area that will complement and extend our current strengths, including but not limited to AI, data science, human centered computing, health informatics, software engineering, and computer education. Faculty Research Assistant Baltimore City Open Until Filled
The candidate will conduct research and development of a novel technology for in situ bioremediation of PCBs that employs PCB degrading microbes. Research techniques will include anaerobic and aerobic bacterial culturing, cryopreservation, scale-up in pilot-scale bioreactors, gas chromatographic analysis of organohalides and quantitative PCR. Training will be provided but laboratory research experience in microbiology is preferred. Candidate will also assist with lab management.
