Open Rank Tenure Track Positions in Computer and Electrical Engineering UMBC Campus Open Until Filled
The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (CSEE) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) invites applications for multiple open rank, tenured/tenure-track positions across all areas of Computer and Electrical Engineering including but not limited to VLSI/ASIC/FPGA, hardware security and trust, neural computation device and circuits, intelligent autonomous systems, semiconductor, photonic-integrated-circuits, nanotechnology, signal processing and sensing systems, 5G/6G wireless systems and biomedical engineering to begin in the Fall of 2024. Applicants should have or be completing a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, have a strong research record with the potential to develop a funded research program, have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence. Candidates will be expected to build and lead a team of student researchers, obtain external research support, and teach both graduate and undergraduate courses.
Postdoctoral Research Associate Baltimore City Open Until Filled
The Tracy Lab at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) (UMBC/ UMB) in downtown Baltimore is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher to lead field and laboratory research related to a project on oyster parasites, biodiversity, and aquaculture. Research in the Tracy Marine Ecosystem Health & Disease Lab focuses on the health of marine ecosystems in a changing ocean, including the ecology and evolution of host-parasite interactions and the microbiome, spatial ecology, fisheries management, aquaculture, and restoration. The successful applicant will be well versed in marine invertebrate biology, experienced with aquaculture techniques and priorities, and able to work well with diverse collaborators and teams.

Faculty Research Assistant Baltimore City Open Until Filled
The candidate will conduct research and development of a novel technology for in situ bioremediation of PCBs that employs PCB degrading microbes. Research techniques will include anaerobic and aerobic bacterial culturing, cryopreservation, scale-up in pilot-scale bioreactors, gas chromatographic analysis of organohalides and quantitative PCR. Training will be provided but laboratory research experience in microbiology is preferred. Candidate will also assist with lab management.

The Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies Department of the University of Maryland Baltimore County announces a full-time one-year position as Visiting Lecturer beginning August 23, 2024. Teaching expertise in introductory courses in gender, women’s, and sexuality studies is required. The ideal candidate will have an M.A. or Ph.D. in Women’s Studies or a closely related interdisciplinary field and demonstrated experience teaching introductory women’s studies courses at the undergraduate level.

The candidate, working alongside our full-time Costume Shop Manager, will contribute technical and organizational support to collaboratively produce costumes for our four-play production season. Through a multi-year NIH Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) Cohort program grant, The University of Maryland FIRST Program was established to create an environment conducive to supporting highly effective biomedical researchers. In close partnership, both University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) and University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) are committed to establishing a home for inclusive excellence.
