Position Overview: |
The Department of Biological Science at UMBC is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance the laboratory's research on how exosomal RNA cargo promotes breast cancer metastasis, with a particular focus on bone colonization. This position is integral to the mission of the department, which emphasizes innovative cancer biology research and translating findings into clinical applications. The Postdoc will lead projects aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms driving metastatic progression and develop bioinformatics tools to identify therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., RNA-seq, RT-PCR, gene editing tools and exosome isolation), bioinformatics analyses, and experience with animal models of metastasis. Additionally, this position supports the department's goal of fostering academic excellence by involving the postdoc in graduate student mentorship, interdisciplinary collaborations, and the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.

Salary: |
Salary: $50,000 - $61,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
